Natural Hair Coloring Agents You Should Try

Dye and colors are effective methods for changing your style and give a new look to your hair. However, dyes can really damage your hair, as they contain many chemical products. Many people do not like putting chemicals on their head and hair as it can damage the hair and leave your hair dry, lifeless and frizzy. The good news is that there are many gentle ways of darkening your hair colour or natural hair colour using natural home remedies and simple ingredients. Here are some effective ways of darkening hair the natural way:



Strongly brewed black coffee can also darken hair when applied to it. Mix the coffee granules with a cheap conditioner. To achieve this add 1/4th cup of a brewed or instant coffee and mix till it is all blended in well. Massage the mixture into hair and scalp. And wrap in a plastic for 15-30 minutes. You can then rinse off the mixture and your hair is coloured!


Black tea also has the same staining effect like coffee. Brew a pot of some strong black tea. Let it cool down and put it into a bowl. Rinse the black tea into your hair a few times. Rinse one last time, waiting ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing out completely. Shampoo and condition your hair. Finally towel-dry your hair. This is a great way to darken your hair a few shades. This method does fade quickly, so for best results try repeating once a week.

3. Beetroot and Carrot juice:


The juices of these two veggies individually or together can be used to give red tints to natural hair. If you are using them individually or together the procedure is the same. Wash your hand pat dry it till it is damp. Pour the mixture on to your hair and allow it to settle for an hour. You can then use your usual shampoo to wash it out.



Before placing the oil on your hair, place it in a small bowl and warm it up slightly in the microwave or in a small pot on the stovetop. Apply the mustard oil to your hair. Start with the ends of your hair. Once your ends are saturated with oil, work your way up towards your roots. Ensure that the oil is evenly applied to your hair as you go by gently massaging the strands between your fingers and/or hands. Wrap your hair in a shower cap and leave the oil for atleast 2 hours or overnight. Shampoo the next morning.



Mix 1 teaspoons of amla powder into a bowl. Then, add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil to the bowl. Stir the ingredients together so that the mixture is smooth. Apply the liquid to your hair as a rinse, leaving it on your hair for about 30-90 minutes. Then shampoo and apply conditioner to your hair as usual, and towel dry. You can make amla oil at home using this recipe.



Mix the cocoa powder with water to form a thick paste, rub it into your hair, cover with shower cap and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. The longer you leave it on the darker the colour will be. Wash your hair normally and apply a conditioner. You can also fill a half empty bottle of shampoo with cocoa and use it for washing your hair.
